“Qi” (pronounced chee) means energy, air or breath, vitality or the Universal force of life. “Gong” means to work, use, practice, transform, cultivate or refine. Put simply, qigong means using this vital life energy to create a healthy mind and body. Through qigong we can heal not only physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually as well. In truth, this type of integrated healing is the only way we can be completely healed. Through the practice of qigong, we can experience the perfect balance we are meant to have. Qigong combines meditation, focused concentration, breathing techniques and body movements to activate and cultivate our vital energy, qi, as it flows through our invisible meridian channels of the body. Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice and has been around for more than 5000 years. According to Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian philosophy, qigong allows access to higher realms of awareness, awakens one’s “true nature”, and helps develop human potential.
This two part seminar will be taught through the Spring Forest Qigong style. Spring Forest Qigong is a form of medical qigong and simultaneously helps heal all realms of our physical, mental and spiritual selves. It addresses the root causes of all physical and mental illness; energy blockages in the body and clears them by working with the energetic aspect of our being. SFQ puts the power back in our own hands and is designed to help everyone realize that we are all born with the natural ability to heal ourselves. It helps us to detect and clear energy blockages in the body and teaches us to us qi to help others heal themselves. Spring Forest Qigong is an active form of healing, restores balance in our body and helps keep our energy channels open thus preventing future problems.
During these two seminars we will explore the four elements of Qigong:
1. Breath – the powerful practice qi energy breathing
2. Visualization/Mind – using the power of your mind to direct energy flow
3. Postures/Movements – five main movements that have been specifically designed to heal different areas of our body and bring it to balance
4. Sound – applying the frequency of sound vibrations to open up different meridian channels in our body
We will learn how to tune into all aspects of our physical, mental and spiritual being and use this profound connection to detect and heal energy blockages. We will also learn how to balance Yin representing feminine, passive and spiritual and Yang representing masculine, active and physical energies in our body helping us achieve a state of harmony. Another technique that will be taught is swordfingers. It’s a powerful healing method that we can not only use to heal ourselves but others as well. While learning these new tools and techniques, we will enable ourselves to have a greater connection with spirit, go into the emptiness, a state of pure energy where you are one with the universe and open up our hearts to connect with the true source of our healing power; love, kindness and forgiveness.
With the new skills that we have attained during the seminars it will empower us to achieve greater states of happiness and peace, pain free movement and greater flexibility, increased athletic potential, body awareness and mental acuity, reduced stress, tension and fatigue, improved metabolism, digestion and elimination, balanced energy, a more youthful appearance and increased strength, vitality and overall health.
Mark Gendre will be teaching these seminars and has been a lifelong student in the health and wellness industry. While following the path of qigong and like minded modalities, he has lived abroad many years and has traveled the world studying with many qigong masters, Buddhist monks, shamans, healers and meditation teachers. Mark has studied many styles of qigong and Spring Forest Qigong has always been his favorite as it is simple yet extremely powerful. He came across this practice while recovering from a severe brain injury and doctors were worried if he would ever recover. Not only did he heal his brain while practicing Spring Forest Qigong but he also healed many emotional traumas that had been presenting themselves through anxiety. Spring Forest Qigong has given him the ability to further connect with the oneness and his spirit by opening up his heart. This has resulted in feelings of pure bliss and happiness. Through opening up his heart, he has been able to dive deep into unconditional love gaining tools to help heal himself and pass that healing energy onto others. Furthermore, SFQ has helped him connect with his consciousness thus enhancing his intuition. He has also learned to become extremely aware of all three aspects of his being and to use that awareness to direct energy flow in his body resulting in greater health and joy. Through learning these powerful and profound tools, Mark has gained so much from the SFQ practice and feels immensely compelled to share them with you.
Mark also has a background in personal training, nutrition, meditation, energy healing and outdoor adventure sports. He is passionate about learning different ways of connecting with his body, mind and spirit and sharing those tools that he has learned with others.
